Equitainia offers both experience days as well as lessons for groups, individuals and re-enactors – whether you can ride or just dream of jousting against the Black Knight, contact us to see what we can do for you.

Jousting Experience Day

Greeted on arrival by the Black Knight and his brave steed, the day will begin shortly after with a brief demonstration of what you and the group will get to have a go at.

With personal training from commercial riders, you will have a go at the games of the Tournement as well as jousting against one of our Knights! No riding experience is necessary, an eye for a target is helpful, and the dream of riding down the tilt essential!

The day concludes with a presentation to the group and a group photo with the Black Knight and his charger.

All riders will be as closely matched to their horse as possible to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the experience. For this reason we have limited numbers on each day.

What’s included:

• Meet & greet by one of our partner Knights on horseback.
• Introductions and group preparation for the day of activities
• Tuition and training of neck reining, riding with a helm and reduced sight, tournament games, holding a lance and hitting the quintain!
• Tuition and training for a choreographed sword or quarterstaff scene.
• Introduction to archery and
• The chance to take part in the tournament at the end of the day and joust against one of our trained Knights.
• Hot and cold drinks are included as standard – keeping us warm in the cooler weather or helping us celebrate in those sunshine filled afternoons.
• Allow at least 6 hours for your visit.
• Photo souvenir.

Optional extras for private functions:

 • Buffet, barbeque, or full party catering
• Marquee for entertaining and dining
• Side performance of Jester comedy and Fire Performers whilst you dine
• Character partners to join the group to provide additional entertainment
• Champagne to help you celebrate the successes of the group.
• Transport to and from the venue (for local groups)
• DVD souvenir of the groups’ day.

These can be booked all year round and take place come rain or shine with the only exception of torrential rain or extreme winds. In these instances we will re-schedule the party at your convenience to avoid disappointment.
