About Us

The Company of Horsemen

The Company of Horsemen was created in the year 2000 by Spencer Ratcliffe and Helen Holdcroft. With over 40 years experience in the entertainment business between them, they have the expertise to provide not only a full and professional service to the Film and TV industry, but also to produce stunning live entertainment at venues all over Great Britain and as far as the Middle East and the Americas.

Since then Spencer and the team continuously train at home to ensure creativity, innovation and professionalism are at the heart of everything they produce. Choreographing and producing new acts each year, the team have an underlying passion to create shows that combine the power, elegance and courage of the horse with the daring athleticism of talented performers.

The Company of Horsemen are known for their strong vibrant character performers and it is an area that they are proud to say is of upmost importance to them. With a new home in the heart of England they would like to welcome visitors to come and see them train, meet the team and spend time with their beautiful horses.

EQUITAINIA

The new training centre has given The Company of Horsemen the opportunity to train the future stars of the live shows! Spencer and Karis McCabe are the driving force behind the construction of the centre and, with even bigger plans to come, its’ development is still going strong.

With an amazing Shropshire backdrop the Company of Horsemen have set up their training centre at Manor House, an exquisite rural business centre set up by Equiscan, the leading thermal imaging company in the UK. Sophie Gent of Equiscan had a vision of bringing top quality facilities together with ambitious small companies whose passion keeps them at the forefront of their industries. With bespoke training rooms, immaculate stabling and grazing, an all weather arena and offices, the centre already holds the key facilities required. Dressage competitor and riding coach Charlotte Fill is the most recent member of the group. Already all three businesses are finding Manor House a great place to be.

There are now an ever growing core team of young people training hard at the centre to hopefully become team members or potentially grab a place on the first UK junior trick riding display team, soon to be at a show near you. To find out how their training progresses, the ups and the downs, keep an eye on our Facebook page – making sure you Like what you see.

Whichever way you look at the Company of Horsemen and Equitainia the training centre – the future looks bright.
